“Avengers: Age of Ultron” sequel and cast revealed!

Avengers2

The Avengers writer and director, Joss Whedon surprised fans at Comic-Con by revealing the mega-hit superhero action sequel’s title “Avengers: Age of Ultron“.

In the comics, Hank Pym, AKA Ant Man, had created Ultron as a sentient robot, but accidentally programmed his darker personality into the robot and created a villain bent on destroying humanity. When Ultron began creating his own robot army, one of them was sent to the Avengers headquarters, where The Wasp encountered him, calling him a vision, and in the end the Avengers convinced Vision to help them.

The problem with this origin story is that Ant Man and The Wasp aren’t being planned until Marvel’s “third wave,” making Avengers: Age Of Ultron require a different origin story for the villain.

Whedon explained:

“Well, because there was a book called ‘Age of Ultron’ quite recently, a lot of people have assumed that is what we’re doing, but that is not the case. We’re doing our own version of the origin story for Ultron. In the origin story, there was Hank Pym, so a lot of people assumed that he will be in the mix. He’s not. We’re basically taking the things from the comics for the movies that we need and can use. A lot of stuff has to fall by the wayside.”

Bringing back the old cast, Robert Downey Jr., Mark Ruffalo, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Anthony Mackie, Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Samuel L. Jackson.
