Nicki Minaj to young girls “Don’t chase any man, put your school first”!

Nicki Minaj to young girls “Don’t chase any man, put your school first”!

Singer, Nicki Minaj lands on the cover of August 2013 issue of Maria Claire Magazine and give advice to young girls around the world.

She calls her fans her “Barbz”:

“I’m very aware that millions of people on Twitter have no idea what we’re talking about. That’s because we kind of have our own language. I used to think it was just a Queens language or a New York language or an East Coast language, but now it’s a Barb Nation language. I have South African Barbz, Japanese, German, Saudi Arabian. You can be a Barb wherever you live.”

On American Idol:

“The perception that people had of me completely changed because there are no cue cards, there’s no script, it wasn’t be performing a song. It was, ‘Let’s see you real personality.’ My core is a genuine human being who roots for other people. I didn’t want to blow smoke up their ass. I wanted every contestant to leave with something that they could remember.”

She wants to try acting at some point:

“I at least want to do three more albums. If I can do that, I’ll feel complete…One day, when I start getting a couple gray hairs, maybe it will all be only acting. I just never know…I’ve kind of become the poster child for doing the things that no one expects.”

In another life she wanted to be a lawyer:

“I just loved the thought of going into a courtroom with mostly men and defending someone — just being able to persuade people with your words. It seems glamorous in a way. Very inspiring and ballsy.”

Her “ah-ha” moment came last year:

“I was on a world tour, a big feat for a female rapper. For the first time, I allowed myself to feel proud of where music had gotten me, and I felt an overwhelming sense of gratitude. You feel the need to pay it forward, which starts with analyzing yourself with a true desire to grow. I was praying every day, ‘You know what, Lord? I want to be a mom one day, and I want to start becoming the woman who I want to parent my child.’ I wanted all of the feelings of entitlement to leave me, because some people have this life for a year or five or 10 — and a lot of them lose it. I didn’t want to become a person who wasn’t enjoying the moment.”

Her advice for girls:

“Don’t chase any man. Put your school first. Men love independent women. You don’t have to be a bitch, but there’s nothing wrong with it at times. And: Men are kids at heart. They want to be nourished and pet like a dog.”

Adam Sandler’s first sequel “Grown Ups 2” showing on July 24!

After moving his family back to his hometown to be with his friends and their kids, Lenny (Adam Sandler), finds out that between old bullies, new bullies, schizo bus drivers, drunk cops on skis, and 400 costumed party crashers — sometimes crazy follows you.

Columbia Pictures presents the new comedy “Grown Ups 2” starring Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Chris Rock, David Spade, Salma Hayek, Maya Rudolph, Maria Bello, and Nick Swardson. Directed by Dennis Dugan, the film is produced by Sandler and Jack Giarraputo.

Sandler’s most successful comedy in his long career, the 2010 film “Grown Ups” took the box office by storm as audiences laughed their way to more than $ 260 million worldwide. Remarkably for a comedy star, Sandler has proven equally popular at home and abroad – the film took in over $ 100 million overseas.

So, after more than ten years of blockbuster comedies, Sandler is doing something he’s never done before: a sequel. Director Dennis Dugan, who helms his eighth Sandler film with “Grown Ups 2,” says that there are several reasons why the time is right.

“It was just exciting to bring everybody back together,” Dugan says. “All the characters and relationships were so rich and funny, we knew there were lots more stories to be told. It’s like visiting old friends.”

For Chris Rock, re-teaming with his fellow funnymen meant the chance to be an especially funny movie. “It’s a playful competition,” he shares. “I wanted to be funnier than Spade, Spade wants to be funnier than Kevin, and Kevin wants to be funnier than Adam. You just can’t help it, if you’re a comedian. But the positive side is that I think we really do make each other funnier.”

Opening across the Philippines on July 24, “Grown Ups 2” is distributed by Columbia Pictures, local office of Sony Pictures Releasing International. Visit to see the latest trailers, get free downloads and play free movie games.

KC Concepcion on her first kontrabida role: “Natuto talaga ako mag-aral ng role.”!

KC Concepcion talks about her very first kontrabida role on ABS-CBN’s Huwag Kang Mawawala and how Judy Ann Santos played a big role on accepting the role.

This is what KC said on how she got to accept the role:

“It might’ve been harder to convince me talaga kasi of course. Si Ate Juday talaga was the one who really personally called me and explained na gusto ko ikaw ang maging kontrabida ko dito. I said I have to think about it and then yun, until nalaman na lang niya na I accepted the project.”

On how she would portray as kontrabida:

Ayoko maging typical kontrabida. Kasi laging nakikita [yun] from Tita Cherie Gil, or yung kayAte Gladys Reyes.”

On why her character is a kontrabida:
Si Alexis siyempre ito yung ine-expect ng tao na kontrabida talaga pero siguro ang maganda kayAlexis, she is not the main kontrabida kasi you will not hate Alexis.
On learning how to attack the role:

Siguro I can say na mas nakilala ko yung sarili ko nung natuto na ako na talagang na-experience ko na yung bumagsak, yung na-experience ko na yung totoong emosyon, yung iba’t ibang emosyon na nararamdaman ng isang babae dahil sa sobrang pagmamahal. Kaya kung you want to say na nagmaldita ka dahil natuto kang magmura or natuto kang magalit or natuto kang ipaglaban ang sarili mo, then it’s okay. I learned.
